The Eleventh Acharya of Jain Swetambar Terapanth
Acharya Mahashraman (b. 1962) is the current and eleventh Acharya of the Jain Swetambar Terapanth sect. Renowned for his simplicity, compassion, and spiritual depth, he is a living embodiment of non-violence, self-discipline, and universal brotherhood. His leadership has inspired millions to walk the path of peace, morality, and service.
Life and Spiritual Journey
Born as Mohanlal in Sardarshahar, Rajasthan, Acharya Mahashraman was initiated into monkhood at the age of 12 by Acharya Tulsi. Under the guidance of Acharya Tulsi and Acharya Mahapragya, he mastered Jain scriptures, philosophy, and meditation. His life is marked by deep study, humility, and tireless service to humanity.
On 23 May 2010, he was anointed as the eleventh Acharya of the Terapanth order. Since then, Acharya Mahashraman has led the community with vision and compassion, upholding the values of ahimsa (non-violence), anuvrat (small vows), and spiritual awakening.

- Launched the Ahimsa Yatra (2014–2022), walking over 50,000 km across India, Nepal, and Bhutan to spread the message of non-violence, harmony, and moral values
