Acharya Mahapragya (1920–2010) was the tenth Acharya of the Jain Swetambar Terapanth sect, a revered spiritual leader, philosopher, and humanitarian. Renowned for his profound wisdom, he was a guiding light for millions, inspiring people across the world with his teachings of non-violence, peace, and self-discipline.
Life and Journey
Born as Nathmal in Tamkor, Rajasthan, Acharya Mahapragya was initiated into monkhood at the tender age of 10. Under the guidance of Acharya Tulsi, he mastered Jain scriptures, philosophy, and meditation. His life was marked by deep study, spiritual practice, and a relentless quest for truth.
He became the successor to Acharya Tulsi and led the Terapanth order with vision and compassion. Acharya Mahapragya travelled over 100,000 km on foot, spreading the message of ahimsa (non-violence), anekant (pluralism), and spiritual awakening.
